Description
Directive (EU) 2024/1785 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 April 2024 amending Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) and Council Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste.
Directive (EU) 2024/1785 updates the Industrial Emissions Directive (2010/75/EU) and the Landfill Directive (1999/31/EC) to strengthen environmental protection in line with the European Green Deal. It extends the scope of industrial activities covered, including intensive livestock farming, as well as mining activities and large-scale manufacturing of batteries. In addition, it tightens emission and environmental performance requirements, requires operators to implement Environmental Management Systems, and enhances monitoring of pollutants. Member States must transpose the directive by July 2026.
