Description
Regulation (EU) 2024/1244 aims to enhance public involvement in environmental decision-making processes and to track industrial pollution sources efficiently. It establishes the Industrial Emissions Portal (IEP), replacing the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register, to standardise and modernise the reporting of environmental data from industrial and agricultural installations. It requires operators to disclose pollutant releases, waste and wastewater transfers, and resource use, with the data made freely accessible to the public to improve transparency and support EU zero-pollution goals. This regulation covers several sectors, including intensive livestock production and aquaculture.
