Description
Short description of the project: ATL.A.HUB is a three-year project funded by EMFAF aimed at filling gaps and address significant bottlenecks in the European algae value-chain of algae production.
Expected results: This project will capitalise on two of the largest facilities in Europe for algae cultivation and processing, using them as “launch pads” for the development of algae-based products new to Europe. It will also deliver an integrated strategy to drive product innovation through specialised Hubs. In addition, significant efforts will be dedicated to the design of an exploitation plan following naturally different pathways depending on the legal structure and status of each hub. Finally, three case-studies will be included as example of investment-ready products whose entry into the market will be accelerated thanks to this strategy, each accompanied by an upscaling and commercialisation plan.
Application/relevance: By connecting research, industry and local authorities, ATL.A.HUB will foster cooperation in the algae sector across Europe, thus contributing to its development.
