Description
Short description of the project: MSP4BIO was a three-year project funded by Horizon Europe aimed at improving science-based Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) to safeguard and restore biodiversity.
Tangible results: The project's final output is the Ecological-Socio-Economic management framework (ESE); a tool-based step-by-step guidance for enhancing protection and restoration of marine ecosystems and biodiversity and integration with MSP. This framework was tested and validated across six pilot sites in different European sea basins.
Application/relevance: The project integrates ecological, socio-economic, and governance considerations into marine ecosystem management.
