FAO Global Conference on Smart Farming

This three-day global event will examine how smart farming systems, closely linked to the digitalisation of the agricultural sector, including aquaculture, can be scaled to improve agrifood production through sustainable practices, efficient resource use, and data-driven decision-making. 

Recognising that digital innovations can be transferred across sectors, the conference will highlight their relevance for the whole agrifood production. Bringing together policymakers, FAO Members, development partners, the private sector, academia, civil society, and farmers’ and youth organisations, the event will explore enabling conditions, governance frameworks, and investment priorities, while showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and precision tools. 

It will further foster collaboration and knowledge exchange to support inclusive, scalable, and context-adapted solutions, promote digital skills and entrepreneurship for youth and women, and help small-scale producers respond to growing climate, economic, and resource challenges.
