Description
Short description of the project: Blue Bio Techpreneurs (BBT) is a three-year project, financed by the EMFAF-2023-BlueCareers programme, aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry by equipping students, young researchers, and recent graduates with transversal and entrepreneurial skills tailored to the needs of sustainable aquaculture and the growing blue bioeconomy. Through targeted training and innovation support, the project fosters the development of future professionals capable of driving responsible growth and technological advancement in marine and aquatic resource-based industries.
Tangible results: The project has developed a networking platform aimed at promoting collaboration across blue sectors, and foster collaborative initiatives for sustainable development and blue innovation. In addition, it has organised different hackathons targeted to students and offering them the opportunity to team up and create innovative ideas and solutions for real-life problems in the blue biotech industry. Finally, it regularly organises webinar series, showcasing real-life experiences, concrete applications and entrepreneurial examples of circular innovations in blue biotech.
Application/relevance: By nurturing a new generation of blue bio-entrepreneurs, the project supports the sustainable use of marine resources and strengthens the blue economy across Europe.
