Description
This guidance document provides fish farmers with an overview of EU legislation on animal health and climate change, along with guidance on disease-preventive measures. In addition, it explores innovative approaches to fostering a more resilient aquaculture sector in the EU. The document also highlights critical strategies for addressing new challenges in aquaculture, with a particular focus on key steps for managing the emergence of new diseases. Finally, it presents two case studies on new disease management on a farm, answers frequently asked questions about handling novel disease outbreaks, and provides a directory of national reference laboratories for fish diseases in the EU. This document has been prepared with financial support from the Aquaculture Advisory Council (AAC) and the European Commission.
