Description
The EU is renowned for its high-quality food products having specific characteristics or farming attributes that distinguish them in the marketplace, and particularly those labelled under registered geographical indications (GIs). This is one of its important strengths giving a competitive advantage to its producers and making a major contribution to its living cultural and gastronomic heritage. The successful proposal should support the objectives of the farm to fork strategy for sustainable food as well as to strengthen the contribution of the system of geographical indications (GIs) to support those objectives. Furthermore, it will contribute to better design and implementation of GIs policy to foster their delivery of sustainable agriculture, aquaculture and fishery, healthy and sustainable diets and sustainable food systems.
