Directive 2014/89/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 establishing a framework for maritime spatial planning

This Directive (EU) 2014/89 establishes a framework for maritime spatial planning aimed at promoting the sustainable growth and development of maritime economies and marine areas, as well as the sustainable use of marine resources within the Union. It therefore helps Member States develop and implement their maritime spatial plans, which affect, among others, the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
