EU Action Plan: Protecting and restoring marine ecosystems for sustainable and resilient fisheries

This action plan is part of the Commission’s efforts to achieve a more consistent implementation of the EU’s environmental policy and the common fisheries policy with its three – environmental, economic and social - sustainability pillars. It provides a forward-looking strategy on how to better apply the ecosystem-based approach to fisheries management and complements the Communication on the functioning of the common fisheries policy and the Communication on the Energy Transition of the EU Fisheries and Aquaculture sector.
