This publication presents guidelines to improve the social acceptability of the aquaculture sector in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Specifically, it identifies the governance, environmental, economic, social and ethical aspects that could influence the social acceptability of aquaculture in the region. By recommending practical actions to stakeholders, these guidelines aim to help unlock the potential for sustainable aquaculture development and provide decision-makers with a useful tool for policy development.
