NewTechAqua Final Conference: Tools & Strategies for a Sustainable Aquaculture

The Final Conference of the NewTechAqua project, held in Brussels on November 15, 2023, was a significant event dedicated to advancing sustainable aquaculture within the European Union. With aquaculture emerging as the fastest-growing food-producing sector, the conference provided a platform to address key challenges facing the industry while showcasing innovative solutions aimed at fostering economic, environmental, and social benefits. Supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program, NewTechAqua aimed to expand and diversify European aquaculture production through technologically advanced, resilient, and sustainable applications.

The conference included informative sessions highlighting the project's most groundbreaking innovations, as well as presentations from the winners of its Award Challenge. In addition, policy recommendations and roundtable discussions offered critical insights into the future of the aquaculture sector, engaging policymakers, producers, researchers, startups, and other stakeholders in shaping a more sustainable and resilient industry landscape.
