Description
Short description of the project: AZA4ICE is a two-year project financed by Interreg Euro-MED aimed at promoting sustainable and circular aquaculture practices by implementing innovative ecosystem spatial planning and stakeholder engagement to enhance economic growth and environmental conservation in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Expected results: AZA4ICE will address the urgent need for sustainable aquaculture by developing and implementing innovative ecosystem aquaculture spatial planning approaches and circular economy practices in close-to-coast and inland waters of the Euro-Mediterranean region. The project will engage diverse stakeholders through the Living Responsible Research and Innovation Ecosystems (LiRRIEs) to collaboratively develop Action Plans that foster the transition to an inclusive and circular economy, while preserving the environment and improving quality of life.
Application/relevance: By enhancing transnational cooperation, reducing administrative burdens, and promoting eco-consciousness, AZA4ICE aims to boost aquaculture, promote resilience, and ensure sustainable management of aquatic resources.
