AQUABIOPRO-FIT

Description

Short description of the project: AQUABIOPROFIT was a four-year project financed by Horizon 2020, aimed at promoting efficient utilisation of European aquaculture, fisheries and agriculture side streams in feeds and nutritional supplement products promoting fitness and health.

Tangible results: The main results of the project include the development of side stream biomass processing technologies to up-concentrate nutrients and bioactives maintaining product quality and minimising waste. The project has developed a training toolkit that serves as a key tool for knowledge and technology transfer within AQUABIOPRO-FIT subject area.

Application/relevance: AQUABIOPRO-FIT addresses the challenges associated with taste, bioactivity, safety and consumer acceptance, to ensure that the products are of high quality and can be effectively brought to the market.
