Description
Short description of the project: BCE was a three-year project co-financed by ERDF, aimed at addressing the global issue of marine littering, particularly waste fishing nets, by establishing a multi-level cluster to connect and catalyse small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Northern Periphery and Artic (NPA) region.
Tangible results: The BCE Project aims to boost demand for FNRC's sustainable products, foster new businesses in the NPA region, and streamline the recycled fishing gear value chain. It seeks to create environmentally and economically viable circular business models among SMEs, enhancing awareness of global opportunities in the NPA region.
Application/relevance: BCE generate sustainable business opportunities focussed on marine plastic waste solutions through informed, innovative and collaborative efforts, for the benefit of enterprises, local economies, and the environment.
