Blue Economy and Marine Conservation: Safeguarding Mediterranean MPAs in order to achieve Good Environmental Status (PHAROS4MPAs)

Description

Short description of the project: PHAROS4MPAS was a two-year project funded by the Interreg Mediterranean programme, aimed at establishing an integrated framework for recommendations on the necessary practical collaboration between Maritime Protected Areas (MPAs) and the 7 maritime sectors targeted by the project.

Tangible results: The project developed an online Decision Support Tool aimed at supporting the operationalisation of the recommendations produced within the project, translating the knowledge from the capitalisation baselines reports into a fully user-friendly online tool.

Application/relevance: The tool is specifically intended for three kinds of users: MPA managers and planners, public authorities and economic operators, to help them to easily find the recommendations and other information (e.g. best practices or case studies) that are more useful for their specific needs.
