Blue jobs through blue careers (BOUTCAR)

Description

Short description of the project: BOUTCAR is a three-year project financed by EMFAF, aimed at creating an educational programme that will allow young people and adults to improve their knowledge and skills, ultimately leading to the creation of sustainable jobs in the context of the Blue Economy.

Expected results: BOUTCAR project will i) develop a training pathway for young people and adults in blue economy; ii) develop competences and skills needed to support EU Green Deal initiatives promoting sustainable blue economy; iii) develop opportunities for fishermen through professional qualification and skills development to operate in the different contexts of offshore wind areas; iv) create strong collaborative networks at EU level, and; v) raise awareness and attractiveness of "blue careers" among students and young professionals.

Application/relevance: Europe's coasts and seas have the potential to generate growth and employment in the future. To achieve this Blue Growth, highly qualified and skilled professionals are needed, and this is what BOUTCAR wants to generate.
