Description
Short description of the project: Marifish.Inc was a two-year project financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) aimed at transforming the Ostend Fish Auction site into an incubator for startups and SMEs active in the Blue Economy.
Tangible results: The main results of the project included the development of an incubator and living lab for innovative start-ups and scale-ups, relying on brand new processing units and a unique access to sufficient volumes of good-quality seawater.
Application/relevance: Marifish.Inc supports the development and scaling of innovative Blue Economy solutions by providing access to advanced facilities, sector expertise, and strong collaboration networks. By bringing together start‑ups, established companies, research institutions, and public authorities, the project fosters knowledge exchange, innovation, and sustainable business growth across the Blue Economy ecosystem.
