Description
MedAID was a four-year project funded by EU Horizon 2020, aimed at increasing the overall competitiveness and sustainability of the Mediterranean marine fish-farming sector, throughout the whole value chain.
Tangible results: The project has developed a Toolbox that gathers the most relevant outputs and results of the project. The toolbox is organized around seven themes to provide the user with simple and rapid resource selection and access: (i) Industry assessment; (ii) Zootechnics; (iii) Genetics and breeding; (iv) Health management; (v) New food products; (vi) Economic markets; and (vii) Governance and social acceptability. An eighth category comprises decision support tools. The project has also developed 3 learning online modules on Animal Health and Welfare.
Application/relevance: The project provides knowledge, tools and recommendations useful for fish farmers, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders, to help them improve the performance and sustainability of fish production, as well as integrate, harmonise and govern the sector.
