EU Aquaculture Assistance Mechanism

Offshore Low-trophic Aquaculture in Multi-Use Scenario Realisation (OLAMUR)

Description

Short description of the project: OLAMUR is a three-year project financed by Horizon Europe, aimed at bringing together multi-use low-trophic aquaculture (MU-LTA) related key sectors, to demonstrate sustainable commercial solutions for both the North and the Baltic Seas.

Expected results: The expected results of the project include demonstrating sustainable multi-use solutions for the North and Baltic Sea regions. All data, information, products and standards for establishing, operating and evaluating will be monitored, simulated, stored and customized as an “OLAMUR digital MU-LTA farm service”. This will provide a solid basis for MU-LTA upscaling.

Application/relevance: OLAMUR will address and solve key bottleneck hampering the development of commercially viable and sustainable offshore low-trophic aquaculture in wind farms and fish farms, thereby enhancing a sustainable LTA production in the EU.
