ULTFARMS

Description

Short description of the project: ULTFARMS is a three-year project financed by Horizon Europe, aimed at increasing Europe’s low-trophic aquaculture capacity through innovative processes that optimize production in challenging offshore conditions. By integrating Low-Trophic Aquaculture systems within Offshore Wind Farms, ULTFARMS works towards environmentally responsible and commercially viable LTA products.

Expected results: The main results of the project include services offered to aquaculture producers for monitoring and minimizing diseases and alien species, managing inputs, optimizing sustainable production and demand management including risk analysis.

Application/relevance: ULTFARMS holds significant relevance for the aquaculture industry as it represents an advancement in sustainable offshore aquaculture, benefiting both the environment and the economy.
