Communication from the Commission: On The common fisheries policy today and tomorrow: a Fisheries and Oceans Pact towards sustainable, science-based, innovative and inclusive fisheries management

Description

The purpose of this Communication is to report on the functioning of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), as provided for in Article 49 of the CFP Regulation, and to set out a vision and a path toward sustainable and resilient fisheries of the future. It complements the action plan on protecting and restoring marine ecosystems for sustainable and resilient fisheries and the Communication on the Energy Transition of the EU Fisheries and Aquaculture sector, which identify and prioritise concrete actions needed to address specific fisheries, environmental and climate challenges. In addition, a targeted report provides a comprehensive assessment of the common markets organisation (CMO).
