Animal Health Law (EU) No 2016/429

Description

Transmissible animal diseases can have a big impact on public health and food safety, as well as on the environment and biodiversity. That is why the EU has laid down animal health rules at the Union level. These rules focus on transmissible terrestrial and aquatic animal diseases to ensure high animal and public health standards in the Union and the rational development of agriculture and aquaculture sectors. This Regulation (EU) 2016/429 also includes rules and requirements concerning aquaculture establishments, movements of aquatic animals within the Union and entry into the Union of aquatic animals from non-EU countries.
