EU rules on the provision of food information to consumers (EU) No 1169/2011

The Regulation provides specific information that must accompany food products (including fishery and aquaculture products) sold to consumers and mass caterers. It clarifies the responsibilities of food business operators with respect to food information. The Regulation therefore contributes to an increased transparency on the market and enables consumers to make informed choices on the products they buy.
