Description
The Common Market Organisation (COM) lays down the measures related to the markets for fishery and aquaculture products. It is an integral part of the CFP and contributes to achieving its objectives. The Regulation covers five main areas: (i) organisation of the sector, which relates to the establishment of fishery and aquaculture producer organisations; (ii) marketing standards, to help ensure a transparent internal market that supplies high-quality products; (iii) consumer information, to help consumers make informed purchasing choices; (iv) competition rules, to ensure a fair market; and (v) market intelligence, to contribute to market transparency and provide market intelligence to all actors across the sector.
