Description
The Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (the SPS Agreement) is one of the multilateral agreements negotiated during the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations (1986-1994). The agreement concerns food safety and animal and plant health regulations. It therefore deals with the health and safety issues that arise regarding international traded food, including labeling.
